Joyful Hatha Yoga

In this joyful class, focus is on, proper alignment of the yoga asanas (postures), proper breathing, strength in body and mind in equal balance with relaxation . The class starts with a joyful breathing meditation, fun conditioning warm-up with focus on breathing, and preparing for the yoga practice, asanas (yoga postures) are taught theme based and keeping mindful of the various needs of the body and mind during the four seasons. Winding down the class is a blissful guided savasana (relaxation) for a nurturing and relaxing experience. Suitable for beginners and experienced beginners. Smiling is encouraged.
 

Gentle Joyful Yoga

This class is designed to help increase freedom of movement, stability, and balance using various props as needed, and supportive teaching. Awareness of breath, proper alignment and mindfulness in postures will be taught to bring you into the present and connect you with your body wisdom. Winding down the class is a blissful guided savasana (relaxation). Suitable for beginners and experienced beginners. Smiling is encouraged.
 

Partner Joyful Yoga 

This class is for couples looking to explore yoga in a playful, passionate and patient way.  Connecting with your partner is the key to this class. Yoga, Thai Yoga Massage and relaxation that will energize and relax both of you on all levels: body, mind and spirit.

 

 

 

Booty Boot Camp  (New for Fall 2007)

This fun, and effective low-impact, high energy interval class will help you burn calories more efficiently, while building strength and stamina. Suitable for all levels of fitness.
 

On The Ball (Basic Pilates & Yoga Infusion)

An effective, balanced blend of Yoga, Strength and Pilates. The stability ball works as a support and a balance  challenge. This class is suitable for beginners through to experienced and those recovering from injuries.

 

 

 

Global Dance Mix 

A fun, funky fusion mix of Belly Dance, Middle Eastern Folk, Salsa, Reggae, Afro Cuban, Bollywood, (Indian), African and Hip Hop. Let the music and rhythms set you free to self-discovery and joy from within. Easy to learn, fun inspired moves that will stir your soul and tone your body. This type of class burns approximately 500 calories in 45 minutes. Join in the fun and shake your groove thing.
 

Children's  Dance / Yoga  

Ages 5 - 8 years

A variety of fun movement, creative dance, ethnic dance, hip hop & yoga will make up this lively class for children.

Ages 9-12 years

A fun filled class with Hip Hop, various World Dances, Yoga, Yoga Dance and Strengthening. This class aims to instill focus, self -esteem and healthy body and mind awareness.

 

Gentle Belly Dance

This fun and easy to follow class helps to increase mobility and flexibility. Belly dance also improves posture, strength and stamina as well as breath capacity. Participants progress at their own pace and ability.

Beginner Belly Dance

Each class begins with a warm-up, specific muscle isolations and control, belly dance conditioning and strengthening   through yoga postures and exercises, correct posture and breathing. Basic class outline includes Belly Dance steps, traveling steps, introduction to veil work, combinations and routines will be taught and reviewed each week. Costuming and some  belly dance history will be discussed. Focus is also on discovery of grace, the dance as the beautiful art form it is, teamwork and support, and of bringing out the joyful, natural belly dancer within all women. Stretching, yoga and gentle dance movements will restore and rejuvenate at the end of class.

New For Spring 2008! Dancing Babies!

Dancing with your baby is an amazing, effective and fun way to shape up after childbirth. Be prepared to have lots of fun learning basic Belly dance, Latin dance and Caribbean dance steps all taught with your sweet pea snuggled close, facing out of the snuggly or sling totally amused with the other sweet peas and their mom's. Your baby will then help give you some instant weight (for toning that is) to do lunges, squats and yoga conditioning exercises. To wind down the class will be simple deep yummy stretches and a very happy baby and mom to go. The class is 45 fabulous minutes in which you will burn approximately 400 calories. You will need a sling or snuggly, indoor sneakers only or bare feet (feels good!)
